Day 9: To Type or Not to Type

Many believe that each of us humans is unique and should vary our diets accordingly.  This sounds reasonable.  Is it true?

Many experts seem to think so, but don’t agree on exactly which differences are relevant.  We have diets based on blood type, “metabolic type,” ethnic heritage … each of them advising radically different styles of eating for people of different “types.”

Dr. Doug Graham takes a very different approach.  He believes that if each of us as individuals require fundamentally different diets, then we are the only species on the planet with this idiosyncrasy.   Guerrilla A eats the same food as guerrilla B.  So should human A eat the same food as human B?

It’s an interesting assertion and I don’t have an opinion (yet).  Maybe you do.  If so, chime in …

Here’s what happened on Day 8:

Breakfast

Smoothie consisting of banana (7 oz peeled), mixed greens (1 oz), strawberry (1 lb), acai (4 oz)

Lunch

Watermelon (2 pounds cut)

Snack

Celery stalks

Dinner

Cantelope (6 pounds uncut)

Raw soup consisting of tomato, spinach, mixed greens, and cucumber

Diet Plan

80/10/10 Raw Vegan (modified slightly)

Supplements

Green Vibrance

Exercise

MMA Conditioning Routine (ropes, ball slams, kettle bells, bag work, etc)

Notes

As I get myself back into MMA condition after my injuries I’m not yet sure how the diet is affecting my energy levels.  I have a bit of work to do to get my body back in the condition it was in before I broke my rib, but I do get a sense that my recovery time is faster and that my body is generally healthier.
