Day 35: How Am I Doing So Far?

It’s still early in this game, so it’s hard to say how this is progressing, but here are my preliminary observations …

#Fails

  • As Doug Graham emphasizes so clearly:  lack of sleep and stress are going to have a bigger impact on your recovery and immune system than anything else.  Immediately following a very stressful day with only one hour of sleep I got hit by the flu pretty hard.
  • I’m definitely not eating enough greens.
  • I’m not drinking enough water.
  • I’m not updating this blog as regularly as I should.
  • I’m not keeping as precise track of what I eat as I should.
  • I should be eating far less cooked food.

#Wins

  • So far, no refined sugar or alcohol!
  • Aside from my recent flu, I’ve been feeling generally better on the diet.
  • My recovery time from workouts seems to be improving.
#Challenges Ahead
  • I’m travelling to China for about two weeks on Monday … eating right, and keeping the blog up to date, may be a challenge
  • Getting enough rest, sunlight, and water has not been easy and I don’t think I’ll be able to express my full genetic potential without that, so I better get my ass in gear.
